Onyx Coale loves starting conversations with people she encountered throughout the day, from the supermarket employee to soccer moms.
Onyx opens with a brief comment, usually a compliment. Next Onyx asks questions to get to know the other person.
She always exchanged business cards before saying goodbye. If Onyx felt someone had potential for her MonaVie business, Onyx Coale would fold the corner of the card and call the person within 24 hours.
“I didn’t call the person to pitch my product,” Onyx Coale says.
Onyx Coale says to the person she is talking to, “I really enjoyed our conversation and wanted to finish what we were talking about.”
She rekindles the connection and eventually people ask Onyx what she does. Onyx gives the shortest answer possible and focuses back on the person she is speaking to.
Onyx Coale says, “What ends up happening is a perfect stranger becomes interested in knowing about me, my product and my opportunity, because I’m not pushing my agenda on them.”
In addition to her genuine interest in others, Onyx Coale finds that her healthy appearance and happy demeanor works wonders.
“One of the most important skills you can acquire in life is how to be somebody others want to be around,” Onyx Coale recommends.
“If you become that kind of person, you will have more opportunities in life, because you will have more friends — people who want to be in your presence and participate in your life. These friends will bring you chances to connect with others, who may bring you even more opportunities or become great friends for life.
